A New Account of Christian Origins

Chapter One: “Pre-rational Religion” (Nov. 2010; 51 pp.)
Remarkable parallels between paleolithic religion, the shaman, and Jesus of Nazareth.

PDF or hardcopy

Individual chapters of The Myth of Nazareth are available in the prepublication edition (Kevalin Press) as chapbooks.
PDF’s are $3 each; hardcopies (while supplies last) $5 each.

Chapter One: The Stone, Bronze, and Iron Ages.   (Hardcopy only)
The first settlers in the Nazareth basin (c. 2200 BCE), and the vibrant settlement—now identified as “Japhia”—in the Bronze and early Iron Ages.

Chapter Two: The Myth of Continuous Habitation
Dramatic end of settlement contemporary with the Assyrian invasions of late VIII BCE.
Shows there is no evidence at all for human habitation in the Nazareth basin for many centuries thereafter.

PDF or hardcopy

Chapter Three: The Hellenistic Renaissance Myth. (Hardcopy only)
Carefully shows there is no material evidence at all backing the modern proposal of a Hellenistic “renaissance” in the basin.

Chapter Four: The Time of Christ
An important chapter. Shows that the tombs in the basin date after the time of Christ, and that the oil lamps do also. Discusses all the ‘alleged’ evidence from the first century CE.

PDF or hardcopy

Chapter Five: Gospel Legends. (Hardcopy only)
Discusses how the later Roman village could not have been on the hillside (the “venerated area”), and describes the scandalous presence of Roman tombs directly under the Church of the Annunciation.

Chapter Six: Nazareth and Nazara. (Hardcopy only)
Reviews the material evidence from Nazareth, and considers the literary witness of the gospels. Includes the six appendices and index to the entire work.

Addendum to THE MYTH OF NAZARETH. Discusses the Nazareth Village Farm Report (2008), too late for inclusion in the book.
(The Addendum was published in BAIAS 2009:95-103.) 16 pages. Hardcopy only (while supplies last) $4.

Ditlef Nielsen

The Old Arabian Moon Religion and the Mosaic Tradition (1904)

This forgotten book lends powerful support to the hypothesis that the Christian Jesus is based on ancient myths and beliefs.
Translated for the first time from the German by René Salm.

Chapter One: “The Conception of God” (30 pp.)
treats the following themes:

· The lunar god of love, Wadd, is man’s celestial advocate
· The moon is ‘hidden’ for three sacred days each month
· Hidden knowledge and the ‘Son of God’
· The sacred meal, and healing through sacrifice in ancient South Arabia
· Hammurabi, Harran, Nabonidus and the lunar-solar conflict
· The later ‘moon-worshipping’ Harranians were gnostic followers of John the Baptist (“Sabians”, “Mandeans”)
· In the Sabaean religion of ancient South Arabia the messiah was human and ‘only-begotten’
